Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) was doing a book signing in Florida last Friday for his book The Way Forward?when he was approached (peacefully) by DREAMers — undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children, with their parents.
The young adults posed with Ryan for photos, which Ryan seemed delighted to offer. But their questions clearly irritated him. Their primary?question was:
“A couple weeks ago you voted for defunding DACA.?It would put me and my sister up for deportation. We just had a question — do you want to deport me and my sister?”
But Paul Ryan ignored their questions and simply said “read the?position in the?book.” A store employee asked them to leave.
When the young people, who had bought the book, respectfully resisted leaving, they were escorted by what appeared to be?a security guard?out of the bookstore. Ray Jose, one of the DREAMers at the store and an organizer with the organization United We Dream said that they were policemen.
The Way Forward?unbelievably analyzes the 2012 election (you were not wanted, buddy — there’s your analysis) and outlines his political vision for “2014 and beyond.” Yay…
